Federation of Anti-corruption Teams India (FACT India) is a registered organisation under "Indian Trust Act", (Reg No:45/2009) which is working hard for the eradication of corruption at all levels through creating awareness amongst public.

FACT India is conducting many activities like
  • Secure recognition for anti-corruption activities
  • Educate and encourage the public
  • Conduct campaigns in institutions and through public meetings
  • Motivate and liaise with Government agencies
  • Foster unity and fellow feeling
  • Provide guidance and advice to member organisation
  • Weed out the corruption at all levels
  • Meet the social, cultural, educational and ecological obligations, and so on....

FACT India believes that the RTI Act 2005 is the key to open the official secrets in order to eliminate corruption. FACT India helps you in giving

[show]1.Who can join FACT India?
Any registered organizations, such as trust, foundations, associations, charity, club, institutions, unions or team with the attitude and interest of anti - corruption and evading bribery can join as an affiliated organization.

[show]2.Why should an organisation join FACT India?
FACT India encourages organizations to join hands together to fight against corruption to build a corruption free nation as a saying, "Teamwork divides the task and doubles the success".

[show]3.What is the procedure to be followed to become a member?
Please download the "Membership form", send the filled in form along with your desired membership fee at any means to the FACT India office.

[show]4.Is there any membership fee, if yes, how much?
Annual Membership = Rs. 200/-
Life Membership = Rs. 1000/-

[show]5.What shall I do if I am an individual person?
An Individual person can join 5th Pillar India, an Anti-corruption Organisation, which is affiliated to the FACT India.

[show]6.What is the fee for individual membership in 5th Pillar India?
Annual Subscription = Rs. 100/-
Life Membership = Rs 2000/-

[show]7.Do I get Identity Card if I join FACT India?
No identity card will be provided. But all the registered organizations will be recognized as affiliated organizations in FACT India website.

[show]3.Why should I contribute FACT India?
Your contributions help us to give awareness programs to students, organizations, NGOs and interested people. You know FACT India is conducting all programs at the free of cost.

[show]4.What is ECS donation?
Electronic Clearing Service - It is a mode of electronic fund transfer from one bank account to another bank account. The Donors who wish to donate an amount in monthly basis or regularly can apply by filling the ECS form. You can Download ECS form here. Alternatively, you can directly get the form from the office. The donors who have bank account in Chennai can only use the method of money transferring.

[show]5.What is NEFT donation?
National Electronic Fund Transfer - It is also a mode of fund transfer from anywhere within India. Those who are interested to donate can utilize the facility. You can Download NEFT form here. Please send the filled in form to the branch manager of the bank where you are having account.

[show]1.What are the programmes conducted by FACT India?
Training programmes, Workshops and Events.

[show]2.Why does FACT India provide the trainings and workshops?
To create awareness amongst the people about anti-corruption and RTI Act, means of training on execution of various departments of government, knowledge of their birthrights and Basic laws, usage of RTI Act 2005, Skill development, fund raising., etc. in order to make people equipped.

[show]3.Can I suggest conducting the training in any required places?
Yes, FACT India is ready to conduct the trainings where you are referring or representing colleges, schools or institutions. You are requested to inform a month before. For more details, contact our FACT India Chennai office.

Trainings on Skill development, usage of RTI Act 2005, functions of various departments of government, knowledge of their Birthrights and basic laws and etc.

[show] 6.Should I pay fee to attend the trainings and workshops?
No. The trainings will be provided at free of cost. FACT India is formed to assist people in creating awareness amongst people and to educate people.


RTI ACT

[show] 1.What is RTI Act 2005?
The Government officials as official Secrets have concealed the details and the activities. To change this and to make the officials, responsible and forthright in order to stop the corruption, RTI Act 2005 has been created.

[show] 2.What are the rights provided in RTI Act 2005?
The rights provides the right to
  • Ask for Information from all the government departments, government recognized institutions, service sectors and etc.,
  • Ask for copies of the files/documents.
  • Inspect the files and documents in person
  • Inspect the (public planned projects) directly
  • Obtain samples of materials.

[show] 3.What is the procedure for applying (or) requesting of information?
To request information (filing an application under RTI Act) from any government departments, please follow the following guidelines.
Step 1:
An RTI application can be made on a plain paper and can have any number of questions
Step 2:
It should be addressed to the public information officer of the department or organisation concerned.
Step 3:
Rs 10 should be paid as application fee by cash or through postal order,court fee stamp or demand draft.
Step 4:
Applicants should make their queries direct and leave no room for the information officer to give vague replies
Step 5:
The Information officer has to reply within 30 days of the receipt of the application, failing which he is liable to a fine of Rs 250 per day.
Step 6:
An appeal can be filed with the head of the department in which the application was filed, if the information officer fails to reply within the time frame.
Step 7:
A second appeal can be filed before the central or state information commission if the applicant is not satisfied with the replies.

[show] 4.Should I pay for the first and second appeal?
No.

[show] 5.Incase if I ask for the copies of the documents, how much should I pay?
Rs 2/- per sheet must be paid for the copies. If the Public information officer fails to give the information within 30 days, he should supply the information at free of cost.

[show]6.Tamil Nadu Information commission's reply letter to the enquiry states that the applicants should not ask travel allowance. Why?
The above statement may create some unwanted confusion. However, the information commission has the power to order the public department to compensate on any loss or other detriment suffered as stated in the RTI Act section 19(8-b).

[show] 7.Can I ask for implementing my obligation under the RTI Act?
No. But you can ask for 'Information' related to your obligations to bring out the depravities.
